Australian Actor Isabel Lucas Refused To Do Coronavirus Test On Byron Bay Movie Set

Isabel Lucas has revealed she opted out of getting a coronavirus test while shooting a movie in Byron Bay.

The former actor was in the idyllic New South Wales town to film Bosch & Rockit, which follows a young father who goes on the run with his surf gang after being caught drug dealing.

Loads of TV and movie productions have been allowed to resume production in the state, however there are strict policies on mask wearing and ensuring everyone on set is negative for the coronavirus.

However, Lucas has told the Alfa Vedic podcast that she decided she didn’t want to do a test to make sure she wasn’t infectious.

She said: “I gave my duty of care of what I could offer to respect everyone’s health and maintain my own health, and I shared that, and I opted out of doing the Covid test.

“Everyone was really respectful and really honouring of, like, how to maintain health while this very tricky time is underway. But I needed to do that. I felt like it was quite an understanding, relaxed group of people.

“My immune system has just become so solid from my way of life, how I live and eat and think. So it was a really beautiful experience all up, even though people were wearing masks most of the time and adhering to those rules.”

The 35-year-old has previously spoken out against forced vaccinations and issued concerns about 5G.

While she maintains everyone on set honoured her choice, producers for the film appear to have been blindsided by the admission.

In a statement to the Sydney Morning Herald, Black Pearl Productions said: “Every cast and crew member was required to sign an acknowledgment that they would adhere to the COVID-Safe guidelines adopted by the production, which included an acknowledgment that they had been COVID-tested prior to principal photography.

“Isabel’s recent statement that was not tested is inconsistent with the producers’ understanding that she had complied with the COVID-Safe guidelines adopted by the production.”

Lucas was this year dumped as ambassador of humanitarian organisation, Plan International, for revealing her anti-vaccination beliefs.

She wrote on social media: “Freedom of choice is every human’s right. I don’t trust the path of vaccination.”

Vaccinations have been proven time and time again to be one of the most effective ways at preventing unnecessary death from treatable diseases.
